Found this cubic zirconia on Truthdig: ‘Creepy’ Karl Rove on Meghan McCain’s Twitter Trail:
You know a social networking trend has gone too far when: (1) Karl Rove has caught on, and (2) Karl Rove attempts to “friend” you—or, in Meghan McCain’s unenviable case, follow you on Twitter. Ew.
Ew? Not sure if it was Robert Sheer, Zuade Kaufman or someone else who wrote that, but ‘ew’ speaks volumes about their maturity level. The image forming in my mind: a 13 year old girl with friends says, “Oh my God, Karl Rove is, like, sooooo creepy!” followed by “Ewwwww!” in unison and then lots of giggles. Heh. Truthdig then cites McCain at The Daily Beast:
Karl Rove follows me on Twitter. That’s creepy. I joined Twitter a few months ago; so far, it has been a liberating way to transition from political to personal blogging. It’s allowed me to share the less-serious aspects and humorously uncensored moments of my life. But there’s also been a downside: I am now being followed by Karl Rove, and my local sheriff, and God knows how many other political pundits. We need to take Twitter back from the creepy people.
Yep. The giggling 13 year olds image has become vivid. I guess McCain just can’t STAND that guy Rove because he, like, keeps following her on Twitter and stuff.  In an interesting turn, McCain then talks about how SHE has explored Rove’s Twitter feed:
On the surface, Karl Rove’s Twitter feed intrigues me. Here’s a guy who for years has been perceived as some kind of inaccessible man-behind-the-curtain figure. And now he Tweets numerous times a day. I’ve never met him in person, which only makes our Twitter relationship even weirder. And to be honest, I find Rove’s Tweets boring. Sometimes he takes questions; other times he talks about his appearances on cable news and other shows. But he doesn’t say anything substantive. If I had to guess, I’d say Rove has a “ghost Twitterer” (as in a ghost writer) or an assistant updating his feed for him. Oddly enough, Rove’s Tweets seem to reveal a softer side to him. Call it savvy marketing, but I find it disingenuous.
Wow, she’s been doing an awful lot of thinking about Rove. I’m finding it hard to imagine that Rove has spent as much time (if any) exploring McCain’s Twitter feed. Maybe Rove isn’t as interested in McCain as she seems to believe. Wait a sec. Obsession over someone who pays no attention to you… isn’t that kinda creepy??

Truthdig: Phrophet Ezekiel Says Visa Creditors Will Surely Die

Liberals who don’t read, understand, or like the Bible really should stay away from quoting scriptures when they try to make a point. When they do, they come across as awkward and uneducated.

For example, the lefty blog Truthdig produces a ‘doh!’ moment in the post GOD IS NOT A FAN OF THE BANKING INDUSTRY:

Do a quick Google search and you’ll find that God, as worshipped by Jews, Christians and Muslims, has some strong feelings about interest charges—or usury, as it’s known in the Hebrew Bible. Here’s a doozy from Ezekiel: “Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.” Ouch.

Good one there, Truthdig! Wow, you really got to ‘em there!

Reality Check: NIV Ezekiel 18:13 “He lends at usury and takes excessive interest. Will such a man live? He will not…” Gee that implies there should be a balance between creditors and borrowers. Darn inconvenient truth.

Wasn’t painful enough for you? Well, who is Truthdig to quit while they’re ahead:

The next time Visa calls looking for a payment, try hitting them up with Exodus 22:25: “If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury.”

Ooooooo. Religious conservatives must really be cringing from that!

Reality Check: Same verse from NIV:  ”If you lend money to one of my people among you who is needy, do not be like a moneylender; charge him no interest.”  The operative phrase being “poor by thee” and “among you who is needy.” It depends on how you define “poor” and “needy.” But, “poor” in Liberaland means having a 40″ plasma TV and an Iphone, so there ya go.

Then Truthdig proceeds to prove that bad things come in 3′s:

Of course, they might throw Leviticus 20:9 back in your face. That’s the one that says, “For everyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother. His blood shall be upon him.”

Grooooan. Truthdig, at least you should consult the Rev. Jeremiah Wright before you spew such inanity.

Reality Check: NIV verse: “If anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother, and his blood will be on his own head” HUH? How does this help the Visa creditor? Is the Visa creditor supposed to be the father/mother?? Dat Don Make No Sense.

Just to tie things up, Truthdig inserts one last whopper of lameness:

Incidentally, Leviticus is the same book homophobes cite when they seek biblical justification, so 20:9 is a good one to keep in your back pocket.

I’m so over-lamed that I can’t even bring myself to look Leviticus 20:9 up.

Marie Cocco: I’m Mad Ya’ll Won’t Let Unions Intimidate Everyone

Sometimes you just have to step back and wonder where some people get there cajones.  Marie Cocco at Truthdig is mad-as-hell that Arlen Specter and, allegedly, several businesses have killed off the Employee No Choice Act. So, Cocco, you’re mad that no one will let your union buddies coerce and intimidate nealry EVERY worker in America into joining a union?  Cocco is MYSTIFIED that nobody else is mad like her:
No cable television rants. No congressional hearing staged to publicly whip those responsible for so transparent a betrayal. Not a pitchfork in sight.
Cocco concludes:
American workers do not need friends whose subservience to the politics of self-preservation makes them indistinguishable from enemies. Remember this the next time these same so-called leaders join the frenzy over an irresponsibly greedy corporate culture—and then act decisively to keep it in place.
I think she might be mad at Barney Frank, too.
