An open challenge to Colin Powell. Ah, Colin Powell, you contemptuous, awful man, you. Over the years since you left the military I have been continuously thunderstruck at how you manage justify your callous, disgraceful behavior to yourself. You are a craven fool. Do you get lots of pats on the back from your beltway friends after your appearances on softball liberal news shows? Do they say, “Good Job, Colin, we’ll keep on accepting you socially as long as you betray the Republicans” or do they just give you that impression? I suppose you have not yet depleted your dorsal knife supply, which is good for you. There are so many more Republicans to undercut in the name of “unity” and “diversity.” If the Republican party is the party of inclusion, compassion, and tolerance, as you said - why are you are trying so hard to exclude and marginalize fiscal, ideological and religious conservatives? Could it be because you aren’t any one of those? What’s true is that you have no business calling yourself a Republican or a conservative. But, WOW, you sure do love to pretend to be a conservative/Republican! Your recent appearance (vid below) on Rachael Maddow’s show where you deliberately undermine valiant GOP efforts to stop the schizophrenic Democratic spending was especially illuminating: Powell: “I have never seen a spending freeze work.” That is despicably false. 1) There has never, EVER, in the history of the US government been a “spending freeze.” 2) The discretionary spending “freeze” the GOP budget (pdf) is referring to is a freeze in spending increases for EARMARKS. That’s right, a “freeze” in Washingtonspeak means Congress doesn’t spend any more money than they already are and the GOP is proposing to stop spending more $$$$ on pork! How terrible of them! Of course, you already know this; you’re just playing the game. All in the name of unity, right, Powell? Your “I have never seen a spending freeze work” lie is just one ice shard on the tip of your iceberg of deceit. There is MUCH more to be said, but fisking you would be pointless. Damn Traitor, Damn Liar: Note: I recognize that Colin Powell has given a great deal to America, but that does not in any way excuse him from being challenged for his current dishonorable behavior.
