Does Andrews Sullivan Truly Support the Disenfranchised Iranian Voters?

Stuck In Isolationism

Stuck In Naive Obama-land?

If you have to explain a joke, it isn’t a good joke.

If you have to explain a blog post

“The president is also speaking in code. The Pope [John Paul II] spoke in a code which was implicit and understood support for the forces of freedom. The code the administration is using is implicit support for this repressive, tyrannical regime,” - Charles Krauthammer.

Unbelievable. Stuck in the ancient past.

Would you mind explaining please, Sullivan? How is supporting the forces of freedom being “stuck in the ancient past?”

Obviously Sullivan is greatly displeased with Krauthammer’s criticism of the stance Obama is taking on Iran. But, why? Hmmm.

So, Obama is desperately worried about displeasing Ayatollah Ali Khamenei whom he referes to as “the Supreme Leader.”

From Ralph Peters:

Silence is complicity. Our president’s refusal to take a forthright moral stand on the side of the Iranian freedom marchers is read in Tehran as a blank check for the current regime.

The fundamentalist junta has begun arresting opposition figures, with regime mouthpieces raising the prospect of the death penalty. Inevitably, there are claims that dissidents have been “hoarding weapons and explosives.”

Foreign media reps are under house arrest. Cellphone frequencies are jammed. Students are killed and the killings disavowed.

And our president is “troubled,” but doesn’t believe we should “meddle” in Iran’s internal affairs. (Meddling in Israel’s domestic affairs is just fine, though.)

We just turned our backs on freedom.

Again.

Yeah. Don’t you just love the postmodernist diplomatic flair Obama brings to the world stage? While he’s fretting over how to make good with whoever wins, the mullahs are busy trying to kill freedom that may eventually come to fruition.

It’s painfully obvious who we should be supporting in Iran. But Obama wants to play his naive diplomacy games, disgracefully worrying about not offending the Mullahs instead supporting a few million disenfranchised Iranians whose last glimmer of freedom is being stamped out before their eyes.

Does Andrew Sullivan really support a free Iran? Is he, like Obama, trying to have it both ways?

SILENCE is complicity. Our president’s refusal to take a forthright moral stand on the side of the Iranian freedom marchers is read in Tehran as a blank check for the current regime.

Kos Pretends Like Americans Just LOVE the Trojan Horse That Is “Public-Option” Health Insurance

You know when the Democrats say “public option” they really mean “Trojan horse.”

Of course, the Chorus of Misery over at the DailyKos would very much like to get this horse inside America’s city gates to usher in an army of Universal Death Care zombies who wait patiently in long lines to feed upon the brains of the Evil Rich Who Dared To Prosper.

So, to this end, Drdemocrat of DailyKos (tis true – [mental] health professionals could be of great service to the Democratic party) employs the deception-by-headline technique used by SO many in the mostly-unprofessional mainstream media about a WSJ poll recently published.

Procliams Drdemocrat: 75% of Americans want public option!

Well, flip me like a burger at McDonalds & close the debate! It’s freakin’ overwhelming support for the happy-botox-smiley public option insurance!

But wait, what’s this I find:

There was also support for the Democratic push to let people sign up for a public health-care plan that would compete with private companies, one of the toughest issues in the health-care debate. Three in four people said a public plan is extremely or quite important. But when told the arguments for and against the plan, a smaller portion, 47%, agreed with arguments in support of the plan, with 42% agreeing with the arguments against it.

Oh, well, uhhh… is there a difference between “want” and “said public plan is extremely or quite important?” Yeah, but what about the NOT BOLDED part afterward saying that “WHEN [THEY WERE] TOLD THE ARGUMENTS” 47% supported and 42% opposed.

I guess it’s not really 75% – how ’bout that. Of course nearly everyone would love free health insurance! But, what’s telling is that when people understand the consequences, they are A LOT less likely to “want” Universal Death Care. Maybe someone should tell ABCNews?

DU: Sarah Palin Not Feminist Because Alaska Still Has Rape, Sexual Assault, Child Abuse, Chlamydia & Teen Pregnancy

Lightning Rod of Left-Wing Hatred

Lightning Rod of Left-Wing Hatred

In a head-scratching forum post, Democratic Underground user CitizenPatriot shares a blog post by Sarah Jones criticizing Sarah Palin’s defense of women in the David Letterman/Slutty Flight Attendant fiasco.

In another unambiguous example of Palin Derangement Syndrome, Jones tries to reason that since Sarah Palin has not performed well enough in key (feminist?) crime/sexuality statistics, she just CAN’T be a REAL feminist.

Palin is calling all feminists to arms. OK. Well, Palin as feminist is hard to swallow, but she suggests we let her record speak for her. So, let’s take a peek.

Hmmm:

Alaska’s reported rate of rape per capita is 2.6 times the national average.

Anchorage has the ninth highest sexual assault rate of any city in the United States, and Fairbanks is ranked first, at 4.7 times the national average.

Alaska’s child abuse rate is six times higher than the national average.

The state continues to rank first or second nationally in the number of chlamydia cases, a ranking it has held since 2000. In 2006, the last year data was available from the Center for Disease control, Alaska ranked 25th in rates of gonorrhea and 28th in syphilis.

The Alaska birthrate among women ages 15-19 in 2006 was 44.3 per 1,000 teens, up 19 percent from 2005.

There are so many factors that affect crime rates it’s automatically disingenuous to fault any state’s governor for poor rates without a thorough explanation. By such hideously twisted logic, one could say Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick isn’t black because 45% of murder victims are black but only 5% of the state’s population is black. How absurd is that? It is the same with the Jones’ flimsy assertions about Palin.

It’s fascinating how the many on the left attribute god-like power to those they simultaneously hate and miscomprehend. Something about Sarah Palin really cuts them deep to their core.

Unbelievable: ABC To Hand Over Primetime Health Care Special To Obama Administration

I don’t normally cover straight news on my blog, but this instance of bias is so outrageous that I am moved to say something.

Drudge is, at the time of this writing, headlining that ABCNews with Charlie Gibson will be doing a special on June 24 called “Prescription for America,” broadcasting directly from the East Room of the White House.

It’s bad enough that ABC is actually broadcasting from the White House, symbolizing a cooperative relationship with the Obama Administration, but the special also excludes those who are opposed to to Socialist/Universal Health Care.

Also, in case you had any dobuts, ABC also hired long-time Universal Health Care advocate Dr. Tim Johnson, to play a role in the special. Just astounding.

I don’t get how ABCNews can justify such blatant heavy-handed one-sidedness to themselves. They can no longer honestly consider themselves professional journalists. Just sick.

ABC is undermining democracy with their idiotic antics. It’s just stupid and outrageous that American journalists would engage is such an act. I guess Obama really is their Dear Leader. Just damn.

Frank Rich Declares Shep Smith’s Email Inbox To Be Reality’s Barometer

Frank Rich Unmasked

Gushy-mushy ultra-liberal Frank Rich breaks out his waving finger in The Obama Haters’ Silent Enablers, warning us all that the right is out for blood, violence & MAYHEM!!!

In his painfully strained analysis, Rich asserts that two recent violent incidents, Dr. George Tiller’s murder and the Holocaust museum murder are indications of a surge in right wing violence. Of course, he ignores the Army recruiters’ murder by a Muslim extremist – that just doesn’t factor in, you see. Like most leftists, Rich wastes no time in preposterously blaming the high-profile personalities of the center-right for inciting the violence through “rhetoric” against…. OBAMA!?! Writes Rich, “What is this fury about? … the new president.”

Yep. Mind-numbing, isn’t it? Sadly, this is how the left reasons:

Criticizing Obama = Responsibility for Killing George Tiller & Inciting racist violence against Jews

Yes, to the left, strong criticism of Obama invariably leads to increased right-wing violence. They think the DHS report on right wing extremism has been vindicated. It hasn’t – not at all.

What’s even worse, Rich’s strongest proof for his wacky assertion is…. Fox News’ Shepherd Smith??

Yes, the same Shepherd Smith who has been leaning slightly to the left as of late. Don’t get me wrong – I’m a big fan of Shep, but you can’t help but notice he gets emotional every now and then – that’s what makes him so entertaining and simultaneously prone to liberal outbursts.

Here is Frank Rich’s Big Proof that all hell is breaking loose on the right:

What’s up with the “feeding each other” and “more & more it seems like people are taking the extra step and getting the gun out?” Yeah, because Dr. Tiller’s murderer & Von Brunn both emailed Shep before they went out and did their heinous deeds… oh, wait – that never happened! Fact is people who email you are busy… emailing you and watching your TV show – NOT “getting the gun out.”

There is no evidence of a connection to the recent violence in the last two weeks and Obama becoming president. Rich’s piece is partly a lame attempt to paint the right as extremist and violent.

In concluding, Rich puts on his Doomsayer hat:

This kind of rhetoric, with its pseudo-Scriptural call to action, is toxic. It is getting louder each day of the Obama presidency. No one, not even Fox News viewers, can say they weren’t warned. [Background Thunder]

The true purpose behind Rich’s column is to attempt to lessen the legitimate criticism of Obama, which is obviously proving to be effective. The true danger is that conservatives will listen to Rich, Shep, & others on the left who want them to tone down the rhetoric.

So, keep it up conservatives! Don’t let up in your criticism of Obama & the Democrats’ schizophrenic spending & blatant attempts to inject more socialism into the already bloated and corrupt government. Don’t hesitate to voice your real concerns!

Welcome to the Shiny New Crowbar!
